Deploy Plugin configuration: IP addresses & credentials

Lloyd Chang
With the Deploy Plugin, where do I specify IP addresses and
credentials of remote application servers?  The only configurable
fields I see are War file and Container.

I can't seem to find configuration instructions on the Deploy Plugin's
wiki page nor in Hudson mailing list archives.

Before I look at the Deploy Plugin source code, I thought I'd ask here
first.  Am I misunderstanding something fundamental about how the
Deploy Plugin should be used?

Thanks,
Lloyd

If you select a container, it should give you additional form fields to
enter information.

Which container did you try?

Re: Deploy Plugin configuration: IP addresses & credentials

Hi Kohsuke,

Thanks for the quick reply.  I tried selecting each one individually,
from Tomcat 6.x down to JBoss 3.x, but nothing appears.  For the .war
file text field, behavior does not changes regardless what I type in.

As a base use case, I am building Hudson from trunk, and put in
http://$HUDSON_URL/job/$JOB_NAME/$BUILD_NUMBER/org.jvnet.hudson.main$hudson-war/artifact/org.jvnet.hudson.main/hudson-war/1.226-SNAPSHOT/hudson.war
as the war file
(where $HUDSON_URL, $JOB_NAME, $BUILD_NUMBER, are replaced by actual values)

I also tried artifact/org.jvnet.hudson.main/hudson-war/1.226-SNAPSHOT/hudson.war,
such as:
$HUDSON_HOME/jobs/$JOB_NAME/modules/org.jvnet.hudson.main$hudson-war/builds/2008-06-17_12-02-30/archive/org.jvnet.hudson.main/hudson-war/1.226-SNAPSHOT/hudson.war

I tried above with both Hudson 1.224 & 1.225, and I don't see the
additional form fields to enter information.  I tried saving the war
text field and container selection, and reload, but no additional info
appears.  The server log file doesn't display relevant information, as
if no errors occurred.

When you get a chance, could you paste some screenshots on the wiki?
Maybe I'm doing something wrong, or it's so obvious, but I'm somehow
missing it?  I'm not sure what I'm suppose to be looking for, because
nothing extra appears.

Thanks.  -- Lloyd

Re: Deploy Plugin configuration: IP addresses & credentials

Stefan Brausch
Hi,

we have the same problem since Hudson version 2.216 and I think this change is the reason for the problem:

/trunk/hudson/main/core/src/main/resources/lib/form/dropdownList.jelly  9366
http://fisheye4.cenqua.com/changelog/hudson/?cs=9366

Any ideas?

Regards,
stefan
