Entire workspace got cleared while performing svn update in Hudson 1.314 also.

Dsk
Now I'm using Hudson version 1.314. In this version also, the entire workspace got deleted while performing svn update. If any folder already exists, on svn update the entire work space is cleared and then starts checkout again. In which hudson version we can get direct solution for this problem instead of removing that folder manually.

Thanks

What version of Hudson were you using previously, and what behavior are you expecting?

The short answer is to use the version that was working for you.

The version which I was using earler was 1.304.
What I'm expecting is : Instead of deleting entire workspace, delete only that folder which is conflicted or which already exists while updating.

Thanks

What's wrong with deleting the entire workspace? It seems to me a
simple way to make sure the next checkout will succeed.

Re: Entire workspace got cleared while performing svn update in Hudson 1.314 also.

Dsk
It takes much time to checkout entire workspace(10 GB). If all conflicted folders are deleted and updated other folders, then also we will get fresh work space. Is this possible in any of version of hudson?

Thanks

Re: Entire workspace got cleared while performing svn update in Hudson 1.314 also.

Jon Schewe
Do you have the "use update" checkbox checked? If not, that'll do it. For large checkouts I've done this in my project:

svn revert -R <working dir> # although I'd like to do this before the checkout

run_build_script.sh

svn revert -R
svn status | grep ? | awk '{print $NF}' | xargs rm -r

That will allow you to do clean updates and should keep you from having conflicts.

I'd like to be able to make sure this last build step always runs, even if the build script fails though.

According to the changelog issue 3580 was applied to Hudson core for versions 1.302 and 1.303 before being rolled back in 1.304 due to surprised users.

Getting this feature back into Hudson is currently being discussed on the dev list: http://www.nabble.com/attention-all-subversion-users-to24335693.html
