[JIRA] Created: (HUDSON-5735) startview doesn't seem to work when called by Hudson

startview doesn't seem to work when called by Hudson
----------------------------------------------------

                 Key: HUDSON-5735
                 URL: http://issues.hudson-ci.org/browse/HUDSON-5735
             Project: Hudson
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: clearcase
    Affects Versions: current
Environment: Windows XP, Hudson running as a service, Clearcase dynamic views in use
            Reporter: alnor
            Assignee: abayer

startview doesn't seem to work when called by Hudson.

The console output shows that the startview command ran (no error output) and that all public vobs are being mounted (or are already mounted).  When it comes to the lshistory though, it complains that it is unable to access "my load rule" because there is no such file or directory for the given load rule.  The extra private vobs are normally started automatically when the view is started but this appears not to be happening in this case.

The reason I say that is because if I now open a command prompt on the machine running hudson, logging in with the same user that is used to run the service, and run the same startview command - it appears in the same way as in the hudson console log (no error output).  However, now I can go and run the same hudson project successfully and it will run as expected.  It will run each time until the Hudson machine is rebooted, at which point I have to manually start the same view as is configured in the hudson project.

I did try the startup-trigger plugin and get it to execute the startview command as well but this didn't help.

Example console output of the failure ...
