[JIRA] Created: (HUDSON-5745) Interface Conflict with 2 Cloud-based plug-ins running

Hudson issues mailing list
Interface Conflict with 2 Cloud-based plug-ins running
------------------------------------------------------

                 Key: HUDSON-5745
                 URL: http://issues.hudson-ci.org/browse/HUDSON-5745
             Project: Hudson
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: ec2, plugin
    Affects Versions: current
         Environment: Windows XP
Reproducible in IE8 and Google Chrome

2 cloud plug-ins installed and enabled at the same time: EC2 and prototype plug-in based on EC2 code
            Reporter: mattintuit
            Assignee: kohsuke
            Priority: Blocker

There seems to be an interface conflict where the drop-down to "Provision via ..." is on the /computer/ page.

With only the EC2 plug-in enabled, I see a drop-down for "Provision via EC2", which provides a list of AMIs I have entered.

With both plug-ins enabled, I see a dropdown for one of the plug-ins (my prototype) and a button for the EC2 plug-in. The prototype's dropdown functions as expected. The "Provision via EC2" plug-in button takes me to a page that says "The 'ami' query parameter is missing".

[JIRA] Resolved: (HUDSON-5745) Interface Conflict with 2 Cloud-based plug-ins running

kohsuke resolved HUDSON-5745.
-----------------------------

    Resolution: Fixed

It is likely because you copied the Jelly script from the EC2 plugin as-is. It contains an ID, which breaks if it's used twice in the same HTML page.

in rev.31929 I modified the EC2 plugin not to rely on an ID. See the computerSet.jelly file of the EC2 plugin for how it's achieved.
