## Maven failure = Hudson success

Hi,I noticed today that I didn't get a build failure message after I checked something in that should have failed. After looking at my console logs it seems even though Maven2 failed to compile the project, Hudson reported a success. The end of the console log is shown below: ```[INFO] [compiler:compile]Compiling 151 source files to d:\hudsondata\jobs\Maven Build\workspace\maven\target\classes[INFO] ------------------------------------------------------------------------[ERROR] BUILD FAILURE [INFO] ------------------------------------------------------------------------[INFO] Compilation failured:\hudsondata\jobs\Maven Build\workspace\maven\src\main\java\net\fiveprime\maven\tapestry\Global.java:[216,76] cannot find symbol symbol : method getAll(java.lang.Class,net.fiveprime.domainmodel3.support.HydrationSpecification)location: interface net.fiveprime.services.internaldata.GenericSearchServices d:\hudsondata\jobs\Maven Build\workspace\maven\src\main\java\net\fiveprime\maven\tapestry\Global.java:[229,74] cannot find symbolsymbol : method getAll(java.lang.Class,net.fiveprime.domainmodel3.support.HydrationSpecification)location: interface net.fiveprime.services.internaldata.GenericSearchServicesd:\hudsondata\jobs\Maven Build\workspace\maven\src\main\java\net\fiveprime\maven\tapestry\pages\proteinpurification\PurifiedProteinBatchEntry.java:[53,21] cannot find symbol symbol : method setBatchPrefix(java.lang.String)location: class net.fiveprime.domainmodel3.proteinpurification.PurifiedProteinBatchd:\hudsondata\jobs\Maven Build\workspace\maven\src\main\java\net\fiveprime\maven\tapestry\pages\proteinpurification\PurifiedProteinBatchEntry.java:[62,34] cannot find symbol symbol : constructor Person(java.lang.String)location: class net.fiveprime.domainmodel3.Persond:\hudsondata\jobs\Maven Build\workspace\maven\src\main\java\net\fiveprime\maven\tapestry\pages\proteinpurification\AnalyticalMeasurementEntry.java:[43,51] cannot find symbol symbol : method getAll(java.lang.Class,net.fiveprime.domainmodel3.support.HydrationSpecification)location: interface net.fiveprime.services.internaldata.GenericSearchServices d:\hudsondata\jobs\Maven Build\workspace\maven\src\main\java\net\fiveprime\maven\tapestry\pages\protein\ExpressedProteinSearch.java:[54,99] cannot find symbolsymbol : method getAll(java.lang.Class,net.fiveprime.domainmodel3.support.HydrationSpecification)location: interface net.fiveprime.services.internaldata.GenericSearchServicesd:\hudsondata\jobs\Maven Build\workspace\maven\src\main\java\net\fiveprime\maven\tapestry\pages\proteinpurification\AnalyticalTestTableColumnEvaluator.java:[36,39] cannot find symbol symbol : method getMeasurementValue()location: class net.fiveprime.domainmodel3.proteinpurification.AnalyticalMeasurement[INFO] ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [INFO] For more information, run Maven with the -e switch[INFO] ------------------------------------------------------------------------[INFO] Total time: 5 seconds[INFO] Finished at: Wed Oct 03 10:12:41 PDT 2007 [INFO] Final Memory: 6M/27M[INFO] ------------------------------------------------------------------------Sending e-mails to: [hidden email]finished: SUCCESS ```I'm using 1.143 and Maven 2.0.7 and I'm using  a free style project, not a M2 project.  Even though the above shows build failure due to compliation I can see the same result when a build fails due to the tests failing. Thanks, that was indeed the problem. ## Re: Maven failure = Hudson success

Administrator I'm pretty sure it does. The intention of the check is to avoid using "endlocal" on Windows that doesn't have it. All Windows since NT (thus including 2000, 2003, XP, and Vista) should support this. 2007/10/4, Peter Reilly <[hidden email]>: > Does anyone know if >     if "%OS%"=="Windows_NT" @endlocal > works on windows vista as well ? > > On 10/4/07, Jonny Wray <[hidden email]> wrote: > > > > Thanks, that was indeed the problem. ## Re: Maven failure = Hudson success

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi all, Somewhat new to Hudson but I am seeing a similar issues with Maven 2.0.7 on Linux (Ubuntu/Feisty Fawn).  I see on the WIKI/issue tracker that people have reported issues with this (something about it working only on 2.0.4) but this could be a red herring.  Any help appreciated. In reply to this post by Kohsuke Kawaguchi I just find it odd that %OS% reports Windows_NT and not vista or whatever.
