Maven failure = Hudson success

Jonny Wray-3
Hi,

I noticed today that I didn't get a build failure message after I checked something in that should have failed. After looking at my console logs it seems even though Maven2 failed to compile the project, Hudson reported a success. The end of the console log is shown below:

I'm using 1.143 and Maven 2.0.7 and I'm using  a free style project, not a M2 project.  Even though the above shows build failure due to compliation I can see the same result when a build fails due to the tests failing.

This Hudson configuration has been up and running for quite a while now and worked previously. I'm not sure when it stopped however, I only just noticed it.

Any ideas?
thanks

Thanks, that was indeed the problem. Changed my mvn.bat as suggested and Hudson's reporting failures just fine now.

Re: Maven failure = Hudson success

I'm pretty sure it does. The intention of the check is to avoid using
"endlocal" on Windows that doesn't have it.

All Windows since NT (thus including 2000, 2003, XP, and Vista) should
support this.

Re: Maven failure = Hudson success

Hi all,

Somewhat new to Hudson but I am seeing a similar issues with Maven 2.0.7
on Linux (Ubuntu/Feisty Fawn).  I see on the WIKI/issue tracker that
people have reported issues with this (something about it working only
on 2.0.4) but this could be a red herring.  Any help appreciated.

Thanks,

Johan

By "similar issues" you mean Maven reports a build error but Hudson
doesn't? Can you elaborate on the problem you see?

would fail (to test notification) but didnt see a failure from Hudson.

Cheers,

Johan

Re: Maven failure = Hudson success

Hi,

Ok, looks like it was a config error that caused Hudson to fail to
report unit test failures.  Turned out we had XML reports disabled for
the project (did not use the XML reports up until now, only the text
based ones).

The code would try to find the XML reports in the target surefire
directory, but since it was disabled, it would find none and simply exit.

Cheers,

Johan
