Post Build Actions for Matrix Projects

Gregory N. Olszewski
Hi,

I've been playing with hudson, moving some of our builds into it and
am having, overall, quite a pleasant experience. Nice job!

I've run into a couple issues with how matrix projects work, and I was
wondering if these are intended behavior. If I've got a matrix project
with a post build action to trigger another project, there appear to
be 3 problems:

        1) When I visit the status page for my matrix project,
there are no 'Downstream Projects' listed.

        2) When I visit the configuration page for the downstream project, the
matrix project is not listed in the 'Build Triggers - Build after
        other projects are built'.

        3) My downstream project is triggered once for each configuration of
the matrix project, rather than once after all configurations succeed.

I'd be happy to file bugs if these are, but want to check that they are
neither misunderstandings nor misconfiguration on my part.

Thanks,
Greg

Greg,

maybe even then it is a good idea to file them anyway and have them
closed with proper explanations, so that the next person searching
for the information will find it.

Bye bye

Looking at the code, currently matrix projects don't support
downstream builds. So hat's what it doesn't have the section for the
UI (your issue #1), and trying to make this work by doing this from
prospective downstream project doesn't make a difference (your issue
#2)

Oh, OK, this is an unexpected side effect of inheriting stuff from the
free-style project.

Yes, this is a bug. I think all the issues are inter-related, so if
you can file a single issue that covers three of this, that would be
great.

Ok. https://hudson.dev.java.net/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=1075
