Hudson already allows you to email a group of people, and the person
or people who "broke the build" built into it. There is no need to
install a plugin.

However, Hudson determines who broke the build by seeing who modified
the code between the time it was last built and the time it broke. If
you aren't doing continuous building, and only build two to three
times per day, Hudson might have a half dozen or so suspects who it
says may have broken the build because each one did a check in of some
sort. Best advice is to do a build after each checkin whenever
practical.

Hudson also needs a way to map a user ID to a email address. You can
set the default Domain name, and Hudson will assume the email address
is <commitUser>@<defaultDomain>. This may or may not be accurate. For
example, if your email addresses are like "[hidden email]",
but users use "jsmith" as their login, you may have problems for users
who are not registered Hudson users.

In Subversion, you could (depending how your repository is set), have
Hudson be a single project for all branches and the trunk). In that
case, all branches and the trunk will be rebuilt whenever a commit is
done.

My suggestion is to have a separate project for each branch and the
trunk. (I don't build using tags.)
It's easy enough to copy one Hudson project from another and make the
changes you need. You can even have templates for projects to make it
even easier.
