SVN_REVISION documentation

Kianwin Ong
Hi Kohsuke,

I noticed from the changelog that the SVN_REVISION environment variable was added in 1.112, but documentation for it still seems to be missing from env-vars.html. Just dropping a note to let you know. =)

I tried placing echo ${SVN_REVISION} in a shell for an execute shell build and it displayed nothing.  If SVN_REVISION works the way I imagined it would be VERY useful.

I have not tried out ${SVN_REVISION} myself yet, but I had a workaround before it was added as a feature. Assuming that you have a Unix shell, just add to your build script:
    SVN_REVISION=`svnversion | tr -d [:space:]`

I have now upgraded to hudson 1.120 and I see documentation for SVN_REVISION but I still can not display it in my builds.  How should a project pick up the variable?

That is supposed to work. I think a bug in the issue tracker would be useful.
