SVN_REVISION variable wrong

We have a post build task that scps our build to production if the build is succesful, it uses the SVN_REVISION

It recently failed because the SVN_REVISION variable was stale.i.e. It has some previous value

This is the output I see in the log..
At revision 3174
Running script  : script ${SVN_REVISION}
[workspace] $ /bin/sh -xe /tmp/hudson4819250401098866536.sh
+ script 3173
