Tying jobs to slaves

Greg Moore-5

Hi,

We’ve been using Hudson 1.352 for quite a while now quite successfully. we have hundreds of jobs and EVERY SINGLE job is TIED to a specific slave. I recently started evaluating a newer version of Hudson 1.375 because  many of the plugins now require a 1.37x version and to my great dismay there was no longer a nice easy to use dropdown list instead there was a simple text field…not even a combo box. *WTF* this seem like a serious change that imho, made the Hudson harder to use. maybe  this could have been better designed like leaving the Tie job to and maybe add an advanced button that would expose the new functionality.

Is there any way to get the dropdown back? having to change a whole lot of slaves and hundreds of jobs doesn’t seem very appealing.

I’m not a java programmer and I don’t know a lot about the internals of Hudson or Hudson plugins. and frankly don’t have the foggiest idea on how I would even ‘fix’ something like this.

sorry for the rant,

Greg Moore

P.S.

For those of you in the US, I hope you have a relaxing Labor day… J and for those of you elsewhere I hope you have a Happy Monday.

abayer filed this ticket last week which discusses the particular issue:
    http://issues.hudson-ci.org/browse/HUDSON-7363

The best you can do right now is vote for the issue and help make a big stink
about it, I too miss the dropdown :(
