Upgrading Hudson and Task Scanner Plugin

Wellmann, Harald-2
I'm trying to upgrade my Hudson installation, including a number of
plugins, from Hudson 1.262 to 1.313.

To be on the safe side, I installed the newer version on a different
machine and copied some of my jobs and to this new location just to see
if everything works.

Unfortunately, it doesn't. I get a lot of error messages when Hudson
tries to parse the old build files.

In particular, the Task Scanner plugin (upgraded from 2.12 to 3.8) no
longer displays a trend graph for the open issues of my old builds.

In the start log, I get loads of exceptions of the following type:

02.07.2009 16:42:31 hudson.util.RobustReflectionConverter doUnmarshal
WARNUNG: Skipping a non-existend type
com.thoughtworks.xstream.mapper.CannotResolveClassException:
hudson.plugins.tasks.TasksMavenResult : hudson.plugins.tasks.TasksMav
enResult
        at
com.thoughtworks.xstream.mapper.DefaultMapper.realClass(DefaultMapper.ja
va:68)
        at
com.thoughtworks.xstream.mapper.MapperWrapper.realClass(MapperWrapper.ja
va:38)

It seems the only way I can use an up-to-date version of Hudson and its
plugins is to forget all history of my previous builds - is that really
true....?

Best regards,

Harald

RE: Upgrading Hudson and Task Scanner Plugin

Ulli Hafner-2
Did the plugin appear in the installed plugin list of zour new Hudson?
The class hudson.plugins.tasks.TasksMavenResult has not been changed
since
2.x and is still part of the tasks plugin. Do you see the tasks plugin
in the
configuration screen of new projects?

AW: RE: Upgrading Hudson and Task Scanner Plugin

Wellmann, Harald-2
Yes, the Task plugin does appear in the list of installed plugins and it is also included in the configuration screen for new projects.

The only problem is that apprently it cannot parse the build logs created by earlier versions.

Regards,
Harald

RE: AW: RE: Upgrading Hudson and Task Scanner Plugin

Ulli Hafner-2
The best thing is to cretae an issue, maybe there is a quick solution for that problem.
Does the configuration screen work for old projects?

Please attach a build.xml file for an old and new project (and the error log).

Thanks, Ulli
