command line shutdown

qwang
Hi,

Newbie question:

If I start hudson by "java -jar hudson.war", how I shut it down by command line?

I know "ctrl + c" will do it. But in case I start this with nohub....

Thanks for your help,
Qingtian

I added http://server/hudson/exit to 1.161. Accessing this URL will
shutdown the VM that runs Hudson.

Um, how does that work with Security turned on?

With security on, I don't want people to be able to go to a particular
URL and have Hudson shut itself down.

I wrapped the Hudson startup command in a shell script wrapper that
writes the PID of the startup process in a text file. The shutdown
script reads this text file, and shuts down that particular process.

As with everything else, when security is turned on, this URL is
protected. So you need to supply the user name and password via basic
authentication.
