configuring test report locations

Tom Huybrechts
hi,

is it possible to configure the location of the junit test reports
before a build has run ? I get an error each time saying the location
does not exist yet...

is that the error that shows when you configure the build?

If you run the build once, then the error will go away. It is not a critical error and will not stop you from saving that configuration.

Actually it does - when I click on save, nothing is saved. I am on 113
however, maybe this was resolved later ?

Re: configuring test report locations

how do you know nothing is saved? I know that this works you see...

One thing I do find with hudson is that because it has such a responsive interface, you often have to force a refresh in order for it to give you up to date information...

for instance, if you configure a project, change something, select save and then select configure again, you have to _refresh_ the page to see your changes.

Re: configuring test report locations

Tom Huybrechts
I stand corrected :)

However, the need to refresh seems like a bug to me.

Looking at the /project/configure HTTP response:

Date:Thu, 12 Jul 2007 09:42:57 GMT
Server:Apache-Coyote/1.1
Content-Type:text/html;charset=UTF-8
Content-Encoding:gzip
Vary:Accept-Encoding
Keep-Alive:timeout=15, max=79
Connection:Keep-Alive
Transfer-Encoding:chunked

I see no cache control directives, so it's up to the browser to decide
how long will it cache the page.

I guess the error message needs to be toned down a bit, given that it
often reports false positives --- directories might not exist because
the build is in progress, for example.

Yes, this frequently happens to me and it was alarming until I learned
to ignore the warning. Can the check be suppressed at least when a build
is in progress, where it is likely the test results from the previous
build have already been deleted?

I filed https://hudson.dev.java.net/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=633 for this.
