hudson deploy plugin + remote (https) certificate

edward.young

(I first posted the following to the hudson-users list, so apologies)

When trying to deploy to a tomcat system behind https with an internal ca signed certificate I'm getting a certificate error.

Caused by: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target

at sun.security.validator.PKIXValidator.doBuild(PKIXValidator.java:285)
at sun.security.validator.PKIXValidator.engineValidate(PKIXValidator.java:191)
at sun.security.validator.Validator.validate(Validator.java:218)

How do I add the ca certificate to hudson/deploy plugin and what is the configuration hook in hudson's control panel?

My hudson instance (version 1.393) is running as a war on Tomcat version Apache Tomcat/6.0.24.

Is this possibly a tweak to the tomcat instance Hudson is running in?

IMO you just need to add the cert to the JDK that tomcat runs on, and if you use slaves don't forget to add it to the jdk of every slave as well. You can use commandline keytool for this, but a much easier way is to use portecle (sourceforge)

Solved. It was a simple matter of adding the cert to the (currently Hudson) instance as you suggested. -Thanks.
